Giovanni Sordo - Barolo Sori Gabutti

$0.00

Appellation: Barolo

Region: Piedmonte

Grape Variety: 100% Nebbiolo

Vineyard: The vineyards are located in the Langhe region, characterized by very deep and compact calcareous marl. The combination of this soil and the local microclimate, rich in microelements, provides an ideal environment for cultivating Nebbiolo. This vigorous and demanding varietal produces prestigious wines that are age-worthy and rich in fragrance.

Winemaking: The vines are trained using the Guyot system, with controlled grass regeneration, organic manuring, and thinning of bunches in July-August. Vine diseases are treated with sulfur and copper sulfate. In the winery, the process involves crushing and destemming, tumultuous fermentation at a controlled temperature, traditional submerged cap maceration for three to four weeks, malolactic fermentation, and aging in traditional wooden casks.

Tasting Notes: This wine has a magnificent, deep and intense garnet red color with bright ruby highlights, promising a long evolution. The legs that flow freely down the inside of the glass indicate the wine's power, structure, and alcohol content. On the nose, it reveals itself as a rich, thoroughbred wine with a long, ample finish. The robust but unobtrusive sensations include oak, ripe fruit aromas, and the fragrance of dried mountain flowers. A slight hint of resin brings out overtones of sweet spices and pea leaves. The wine has an intense warm entry in the mouth, followed by nice, sweetish tannins, and greater depth on the nose. It exhibits great structure, harmony, and balance, combined with a long aromatic finish and complexity, promising a glorious future.
