Gigondas La Cave - Beaumirail

$0.00

Appellation: Vacqueyras Red

Region: Southern Rhone Valley

Grape Variety: 63% Black Grenache - 24% Syrah - 13% Mourvèdre and Cinsault

Vineyard: The vineyard is located over the village of Vacqueyras, in the southern part of Gigondas at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail. The soil is typical from the Ice Age, with alluvial deposits on terraces. Vines benefit from a warm and dry climate with important sun exposure.

Winemaking: After a complete destemming, the traditional winemaking takes place in vat for 21 days with temperature control and various umballasting, punching down and pumping-over. The wine is aged in vats to keep all its natural flavors.

Tasting Notes: A magnificent deep red color with purple nuances. The presence and elegance of the wine is revealed with ripe blackberries, blackcurrant and black cherries. After a little time of aeration, slight notes of blueberries and plums are revealed. The first sensation on the palate is well-defined and smooth. Tannins are delicate and melt themselves in the richness of the wine's body. The finish has spicy notes of nutmeg and clove, which develops a subtle perfume of violets and a licorice aftertaste.

Food Pairing: Youth and freshness will perfectly match various sunny dishes. Otherwise, the wine can be laid down for 2 to 4 years and will ideally go well with a stew or a vegetable based meal.
