Domaine de la Côte de l'Ange - White

$0.00

The Mestre Family is one of the oldest families in Chateauneuf du Pape, and its members come from a line of wine growers. In the 1960's, Monique and Jean-Claude Mestre took over the family brand name and created their own vineyard with some of the vines from the "Coteaux de l'Ange". The domain is now run by their daughter, Corinne and her husband Yannick, who are carrying on the business with respect for the old wine growing tradition.

Appellation: Chateauneuf-du-Pape

Region: Southern Rhône Valley

Grape varieties: Grenache 20% - Clairette 30% - Bourboulenc 30%- Roussane 20%

Vineyard: The 30-year-old vines stretch on a surface area of 2.5 acres made of clay limestone. They are trained on wire, hand-picked and sorted. The soil is tilled, and the vines sprayed only when necessary.

Winemaking: After a direct pressing in a pneumatic press, 70% of the grapes are vinified in temperature-controlled vats, and 30% in new barrels with lees’ stirring.

Tasting Notes: Magnificent pale yellow color with golden glints. The nose gives off aromas of white flowers, peaches, pears in syrup and candied fruits. It is fresh and round in the mouth, very soft with a long finish of vanilla aromas.

Food Pairing: This wine will be delightful along with a risotto with scallops or a white fish enhanced with spices.
