Maison Rivière - Château Paret
This beautiful estate situated in Saint Genès de Castillon, facing the Puisseguin appellation, has belonged to the family since 1887. In 1988, Philippe Fauché took charge of the vineyard. Geographically well-placed bordering the vineyards of the Jurisdiction of Saint-Emilion, the vines benefit from being planted in three distinct terroirs that give the wine its special character.
Appellation: Cotes de Castillon
Region: Bordeaux
Grape Varieties: 80% Merlot - 20% Cabernet Franc
Vineyard: The vines are planted on a clay plateau located in Saint Genès de Castillon.
Winemaking: Grapes are machine-harvested and then hand-selected. They are sorted and de-stalked before being gently pressed to extract maximum color from the juice. The juices undergo traditional fermentation, with a maceration period of up to 28 days, and are regularly pumped over in small stainless steel vats under temperature control.
Tasting Notes: This wine offers a deep ruby color with high density. The nose is aromatic with hints of blackberries, and the palate is full-bodied with an excellent balance between strength and fruitiness.
Food Pairing: This wine pairs excellently with both red and white meats, game, and cheese.
