Vineyard: Château Maucoil's vineyards are located in the northwest of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape area, on the left bank of the Rhône River. This ideal location has allowed the estate to be entirely organic since 2011. The wine is made from the oldest vines of the estate (70 years old) and includes the 13 grape varieties allowed in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation. The entire harvest is carried out by hand, with grapes placed in crates.

Winemaking: All grape varieties are vinified together. After fermenting for around 30 days, with pumping over, rack-and-return, and punching down operations, the wine is transferred into either 228L or 600L barrels (new or previously used for one vintage), depending on the plot. The wine is aged for a period of 12 to 18 months in barrels before being bottled and aged once more.

Tasting Notes: This wine features a strong ruby red color with a powerful and extremely complex nose of fine spices, fruit, black olives, and garrigue shrubland. On the palate, it is concentrated with polished tannins and offers exceptional length, presenting flavors of spices and black fruits.

Food Pairing: Serve between 17-18°C. This wine can be decanted one hour before serving and pairs nicely with meats served on special occasions. It can be laid down for around 15 years, depending on the vintage.
