Château D’Hanteillan is a historic Haut-Médoc estate, mentioned as far back as the 12th century in the papal bull of Pope Alexander III as belonging the Abbey of Vertheuil. The estate was later owned by a number of bourgeois families before being bought in 1972 by Mathieu-Blasco's family, entrepreneurs from the Limousin with a background in breeding and industry and a passion for fine wines.

Grape Varieties: 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot.

Soil Type: Saint-Estèphe limestone massif, white marl, Miocene clay and sand.

Winemaking: Traditional vinification in temperature-controlled concrete and stainless steel vats. The 2018 vintage at Château d’Hanteillan was characterized by a healthy harvest picked at optimum ripeness, offering a full-bodied wine ready to be enjoyed now but reaching its peak between 2028 and 2030.

Tasting Notes: Intense color, blackcurrant, blackberry, graphite, velvety palate, hints of sweetness and vanilla.

Food Pairing: Beef Bourguignon, Lamb Chops, Roast Duck.
