Château Bel Air Gloria

$0.00

First referenced in the 15th century, Château Bel Air boasts a rich history dating back to the early development of Médoc wines. Following years of disputes and eventual division, Henri Martin acquired the estate in 1980. The vineyard, located on the banks of the Gironde River, benefits from rich soil that imparts a generous character, intense fruitiness, and good color to its wines.

Appellation: Haut-Medoc

Region: Bordeaux

Grape varieties: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc.

Vineyard: Spanning 34 hectares in Cussac-Fort-Médoc near Saint-Julien de Beychevelle, vines are grown on gravelly rises over a predominantly blue-clay subsoil. With an average vine age of 30 years, the vineyard produces grapes that are well-ripened and fresh.

Winemaking: Involves manual harvesting and traditional vinification in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats over three weeks. The wine is then aged for 12 months in barrels, with 25% of the barrels being new.

Tasting Notes: The geographical location of this vineyard allows for well-balanced and robust wines. The grapes are always well-ripened, and their freshness preserved. Full, rich fruit on the palate initially and on the finish. Food pairing: This wine is best served at 17-18°C. It pairs excellently with skewered lamb, stuffed poultry, or grilled beef tenderloin cooked on vine shoots, accompanied by pan-browned vegetables. Additionally, it makes a perfect partner for a good selection of cheeses.
