Rosso di Montalcino DOC

Two estates – Ridolfi in Montalcino and Tenuta Rocchetto in Larciano – over 133 acres of land, 51 of which are cultivated vineyards. The persistent research for excellence, heritage of a noble Tuscan taste has been passed on unaltered through Ridolfi’s history.

Grape Variety:

100% Sangiovese

Winemaking:

The Estate is situated in the locality of “Mercatali”, it rises on the slope of a hill in the heart of Tuscany, 984 feet above sea level near the famous “Brunello Road”. It comprises 74 acres of land, 27 acres are dedicated to Brunello vines, 14 acres to Chianti Colli Senesi and 2.47 acres across Rosso di Montalcino, plus 700 olive trees. The second harvest takes place in the middle of September, all the grapes are manually picked, destemmed and crushed. The alcoholic fermentation is made at controlled temperature in stainless steel vats and followed by a 30-day maceration. Then the wine is aged in oak barrels for 6 months.

Tasting Note:

With its ruby red, bright and clear color, the wine offers a perfumed nose with predominant aromas of ripe red fruit, especially cherry,  harmoniously blended with pleasant spicy notes. The taste is elegant, soft and well balanced with a lively touch of freshness to balance the set and a good persistence.

Food Pairing:

Can be serve with meat dishes from blunt taste and decided to medium structure as pasta with meat sauce, poultry, composite risottos.
