Château Larrivet Haut-Brion – Les Demoiselles de Larrivet Haut-Brion
Pessac-Léognan AOC
Made by a motivated, rigorous team who lavish the greatest of care on viticulture and winemaking, the wines of Château Larrivet Haut-Brion are outstanding – a true journey for the senses.
Grape Varieties:
57% Merlot – 40% Cabernet-Sauvignon – 3% Cabernet-Franc
Vineyard:
The famous Terroir of Pessac-Léognan is made of deep gravely and sandy soil overlying a clay subsoil. Here the 25-year old vine is pruned following the double guyot method, and benefits from various care that extract the best quality of the grapes (Ploughing or planting grass, thinning-cut of leaves, green harvest).
Winemaking:
The winery is equipped with stainless steel vats with temperature controlled which allows a vinification plot by plot. After the traditional winemaking with pumping over every day and a long maceration period, 1/3 of the wine aged in big barrels and the rest in regular barrels and vats, during 14 months.
Tasting Note:
Beautiful color, ruby and brilliant. The nose is open and fruity, expressive with aromas of warm black fruit and slight vanilla notes. Smooth and ample round palate enhance by elegant well-integrated tannins with a long finish.
Pairing Food:
The wine will be delightful along with a barbecued Beef Ribs Steak or Grilled Chicken.
