The two schools share classes with each other during Upper School, and students are able to choose courses from a combined course catalogue, with the exception of mathematics courses and ninth grade English, which remain separate. One of my favorite things about Group II was the Famous Buildings project. During the junior and senior years, students may select from a wide variety of courses, including specialized semester electives such as Modern Middle East, Debate, and Criminal Justice, and full-year AP classes including World, Art History, Human Geography, and Comparative Government. It’s what makes GA feel most like home. Whether the work happens in the film studio, the art room, or the E&D lab, there is rarely a single answer to the challenges or the prompts I give my students.
