Chateau Viranel – Viognier
IGP Herault Cessenon
For five centuries, the vineyard has belonged to the same family. Tradition and modernity are the heart of winemaking, that’s why they practice friendly agricultural practices for the 98 acres of their family estate.
Grape Variety:
100% Viognier
Vineyard:
The Mediterranean climate and the cool nights of the Cévennes give to the grapes the best maturity. The Northern wind called Tramontane dry the humidity which guarantee to the grapes a perfect sanitary state.
Winemaking:
Harvesting is done manually in the morning before the heat rises. During a traditional vinification over lees, the temperature is strictly controlled throughout fermentation. Juices mature over lees with regular stirring, during three months after vatting.
Tasting Note:
This wine has a beautiful golden straw color with green highlights and a delicate nose of white flowers and citrus fruits. The palate is sweet, marked by nice acidity, dominated by lemon and grapefruit notes enhanced by apricot aromas with a fresh and lingering finish.
Pairing Food:
This wine will be perfect for an aperitif or with seafood, fish, and cheese.
