Sauternes AOC
Château de Myrat is a family estate of 54 acres of vines planted on the superb terroir of stones of the Haut-Barsac. The family de Pontac produces with passion and commitment a Sauternes wine: delicate, elegant and full of natural distinction.
Grape varieties:
Sémilion 88% – Sauvignon 8% – Muscadelle 4%
Vineyard:
Vines grow on a clay limestone soil situated on a cracked limestone layer and they benefit from a natural drainage.
Winemaking:
After an uniquely hand-picking by successive selections throughout the vineyard and a slow pressing, the fermentation takes place in barrels, then the wine is aged for 22 months in French oak barrels.
Tasting note:
The nose offers aromas of quince, citrus zest, peach and dried apricot. The palate combines freshness, nervousness and strength, and it is full-bodied and extended by a beautiful length.
Food pairing:
This wine will match with many kind of dishes such as spicy tapas, shrimps, chicken curry, cheeses, apple or pear tart, dessert with mango, peaches and red fruits.
