Vignoble Dampt – Chablis 1er Cru Les Fourneaux
Chablis 1er Cru Les Fourneaux AOC
Grape Variety:
100% Chardonnay
Vineyard / Winemaking:
The association of the Dampt Brothers running the Estate is a great combination of modernism keeping the quality of this famous Vineyard a priority. Maturing in barrels for 30% and 70% in stainless steel vats, this wine lives up to its “1er Cru” designation.
Tasting Note:
Beautiful pale yellow color with sparkling reflections. The nose is very fruity and fresh (orange peel) with a nice intensity. The palate is silky, from a dry mid-palate but yet with fruity feeling accompanied by a bitter edge enhances the whole. The long finish prolongs the pleasure.
Food Pairing:
This wine is revealing with oyster or shellfish but can also be paired with cheeses and by itself as an aperitif.
Rating:
Vintage 2012: 91 Points Wine Spectator
Vintage 2014: 92 Points Wine Spectator
