Chateau Vignelaure Rosé
Coteaux d’Aix en Provence AOC
CHÂTEAU VIGNELAURE was created in 1960 by Georges Brunet (former owner of Château La Lagune, Grand Cru Classé in Haut Médoc, Bordeaux). Since 2007, Château Vignelaure is the property of the Sundstrom family who works with a passionate team, always looking for excellence.
Grape Variety:
Grenache – Syrah – Cabernet Sauvignon
Vineyard:
In the north of Aix-en-Provence, surrounded by wild and immaculate nature, stands Château Vignelaure. The vineyard is the pioneer as far as planting Cabernet Sauvignon in Provence. Château Vignelaure is converting the 148 acres to organic production and is also making nice white and rosé wines, perfectly balanced.
Winemaking:
After a parcel selection, the old vines (25-50 years old) are harvested by hand and meticulously sorted. Juices are extracted thanks to direct pneumatic press and immediately cooled and settled for 48 hours. The slow fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless-steel tank, is followed by a partial malolactic fermentation before being aged on fine lees for 3 months.
Tasting Note:
Salmon color, light and bright. Intense noise on fruits (fruits of the forest, peach, grapefruit). In the mouth, balance and fineness. Long final on white fruits and spices.
Pairing Food:
The wine will be perfect with sushis, salmon or tuna based dishes.
