Hubert Perrodo bought Chateau Labégorce in 1989, then L’Abbé Gorsse de Gorsse in 2002 and finally Labégorce Zédé in 2005. By reunifying the prestigious vineyard divided by history, Hubert Period business developer and industrialist, achieved the goal he had set for himself. All around the Château Labégorce, these great Margaux Crus Burgeois once again share their future together. His daughter Nathalie now manages the estate. To regain the estate nobility, she is surrounded by a motivated and competent team, directed by the oenologist Marjolaine Maurice-de-Coninck.

Grape varieties:

Cabernet Sauvignon 60% – Merlot 33% – Cabernet Franc 5% – Petit Verdot 2%

Vineyard:

The 35-year-old vine is planted on 67 acres of land in the magnificent area of Bordeaux. The soil is divided by 3 different sections mostly composed by gravel , clay and sand. The best plot are located near by the castle.

Winemaking:

Harvested manually, grapes are subject to meticulous sorting. The process of winemaking used the traditional way and the use of a complete combinaison of cement tank and stainless vat. Then the soften work of aging takes place during 15 months in French Oak barrel with 40% new oak and egg-white fining.

Tasting Note:

The dense red dark color of the wine reveals a fruity nose such as blue fruits and black currants emphasize by a cedar nuance. The  velvety and elegant palate is harmoniously blended and concentrated, with a savory and long finish.

The wine will ideally pair with a roasted turkey or chicken.
