The lands of these vineyards, made up of very deep and compact calcareous marl, rich in micro elements, provides an ideal environment, with the complicity of the micro climate typical of the Langhe, for the cultivation of Nebbiolo, an extremely vigorous and demanding varietal which produces wines of great prestige, age-worthy and rich in fragrance.
Winemaking:
Guyot vine-training system; controlled grass regeneration, organic manuring; thinning of bunches in July-August, vine diseases treated with sulfur and copper sulfate. In the winery : crushing and destemming, tumultuous fermentation at a controlled temperature, traditional submerged cap maceration for three-four weeks, maloatic fermentation, aging in traditional wooden casks.
Tasting note:
Magnificent color: deep, intense, garnet red with bright ruby highlights promising a long evolution. Perfectly brilliant. The legs that flow freely down the inside of the grass are a clear indication of this wine’s power, structure and alcohol. On the nose it shows itself to be a rich, thoroughbred wine with a long, ample finish. Excellent cleanliness. Noticeable among the robust, but unobtrusive sensations are oak, the aroma of the ripe fruit, and the fragrance of dried mountain flowers. A very slight hint of resin brings out overtones of sweet spices and peas leaves. An intense warm entry on the mouth is followed by nice, sweetish tannins and a very showed on the nose are confirmed in more depth. Great structure, harmony ad balance, combined with a long aromatic finish and complexity, promise a glorious future.
