Brunello di Montalcino DOCG

Two estates – Ridolfi in Montalcino and Tenuta Rocchetto in Larciano – over 133 acres of land, 51 of which are cultivated vineyards. The persistent research for excellence, heritage of a noble Tuscan taste has been passed on unaltered through Ridolfi’s history.

Grape Variety:

100% Sangiovese


The Estate is situated in the locality of “Mercatali”, it rises on the slope of a hill in the heart of Tuscany, 984 feet above sea level near the famous “Brunello Road”. It comprises 74 acres of land, 27 acres are dedicated to Brunello vines, 14 acres to Chianti Colli Senesi and 2.47 acres across Rosso di Montalcino, plus 700 olive trees. The harvest starts in Septembre, all the grappes are manually picking with wooden boxe to preserve the fruit.  The fermentation and the maceration last 50 to 60 days under temperature control in stainless tank. Then the wine is aging 36 months in oak barrels  and then 12 months in bottle, it prepare itself to give the best of its innate assets.

Tasting Note:

Leafy underbrush, new leather, dark berry and chopped herb aromas come out of the glass. The fresh, chewy palate doles out succulent wild cherry, ripe raspberry, white pepper and cinnamon notes overlays smooth and round tannins. A licorice note enhance the finish. It’s already delicious but will also offer fine drinking over the next several years. Drink 2018–2024.

Food Pairing:

Will alongs with structured dishes of red meats, feather and furred game, also enjoyable as a wine for meditation.
