Domaines Paul Mas – Mas des Tannes Coteaux de Bessilles Red


Grape varieties: 45% Grenache, 35% Mourvèdre, 20% Carignan

Appellation: IGP Pays d’Oc

Vinification: Destemming, cold pre-fermentation maceration for 3 days and separate vinification for each grape variety. The alcoholic fermentation lasts between 5 and 7 days. A post fermentation maceration is then carried out for 4 to 10 days. Use of stainless-steel tanks and new epoxy coated cement tanks, with temperature control. The malolactic fermentation is done in barrels.

Ageing: Aged in barrels for 6 months after malolactic fermentation. 60% of the wine is sintered in American oak barrels and 40% in French oak barrels (new oak barrels and one or two wine barrels).

Colour: deep purple with ruby highlights
Nose: aromas of blueberry, vanilla and blackberry, associated with strawberry and sweet spices.
Palate: rich and opulent with coated tannins. Notes of jam and a good length, persistent.
Food & wine pairing: this wine goes well with grilled red meat, lamb, veal chops, pasta, soft and hard cheeses, or a chocolate cake.

History of Domaines Paul Mas: It’s a 60-ha vineyard in Montagnac prides itself on its privileged setting. It is protected by pine trees and the garrigue and nourished by the mild climate of Mediterranean Sea, which is nearby, and the healthy northern wind. It is rich in organic life deep in its clayed-limestone soils, which never came in contact with synthetic chemicals. The vines are naturally resistant and vigorous, the fruits are concentrated and full of life, and the wines are balanced and majestic. Mas des Tannes vineyard is a vineyard that has always been managed without any chemical products.
