Château Larmande – Classified Great Growth of Saint-Emilion

Share

Saint Emilion Grand Cru AOC

Château Larmande has been constituted during the 18th century and is one of the oldest properties of Saint-Emilion. Supported by professionals and managed by Bertrand de Villaines, Château Larmande endeavours to produce wines delivering all the richness of the terroir, by focusing on precision and delicateness, from the vineyard to the cellar.

Grape varieties:

65% Merlot – 30% Cabernet Franc – 5% Cabernet Sauvignon

Vineyard:

Vines are aged of 30 years and grow on a clay-limestone and ancient sands soil.

Winemaking:

After a manual harvest and vatting for about 21 days, the wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.

Tasting note:

The nose and the palate offer flavors of raspberry, cherry, graphite, leather and tobacco. Then the palate delivers strength, a wave of freshness on the dry and cocoa-tinged finish.

Pairing food:

This wine will match with caesar salad, braised leg of duck with pears, or with shepherd’s pie, apples and sweet potatoes, but it will be perfect with desserts such as raspberry clafoutis or chocolate-coffee fudge cake.
