Lalande de Pomerol AOC

Living in the middle of the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation area, Hubert de Boüard de Laforest always believed that estates in Lalande-de-Pomerol are capable of producing outstanding wines on a par with the greatest Bordeaux appellations. He bought this 60-acre property in 1998, supported by his children, Coralie and Matthieu, and by his technical Director Philippe Nunes, he applies his technical and oenological know-how in a new, environmentally friendly approach to wine growing.

Grape varieties:

85% Merlot – 8% Cabernet Sauvignon – 7% Cabernet Franc

Vineyard:

The 60-acre vineyard is 25 years old and lies on a clay-loam top soil and a gravelly subsoil.

Winemaking:

The winemaking processes takes place entirely by gravity in inverted truncated tanks, then the wine is aged for 18 to 24 months in oak barrels.

Tasting note:

La Fleur de Bouard offers a ripe, red berry nose with a hint of chocolate. The palate is juicy, round and smooth with a firm finish.

Food pairing:

This wine matches with games and gravy, spit-roasted lamb or beef fillet, along with pan-fried boletus mushrooms and potatoes, but it will be perfect with Pata Negra ham or cheeses.
