Cotes de Bourg
Since 1926, four generations of the Hoclet family have cared for their vines on the slopes overlooking the Gironde estuary. Over the decades they have adapted to methods and the market, continually increasing the size of the vineyard. Today, they offer two special reserves, which marry the terroir and the family know-how.
Grape Variety :
75% merlot, 25% cabernet sauvignon
Vineyard:
Produced from their oldest vines with a density of 5550 plants per hectar, the vineyards are on a plateau above the village of St.Ciers de Canesse. These gravelly soils from the Eocene period are naturally filtering and allow the old vines to explore in depth and express all the typicity of the terroir.
Tasting Notes:
The colour is a deep red with a hue of crushed cherries.
The bouquet is characteristic and of marked complexity with a blend of fiery and fruity minerals.
On the palate it is rich and full with tannins present but pleasant. The balance between the body and the acidity is very good and the finale is characteristic with delicate hints of oak.
