Chateau de Camparian
Péssac-Leognan AOC
Owned by the Ballande family for 200 years, this vineyard is one of the last to remain in the commune of Villenave d’Ornon, which not far from Bordeaux. The property isin the first’ geographical circle’ of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, which is also home to Haut-Brion and Pape Clément.
Grapes Varieties:
35% Cabernet-Sauvignon – 35% Merlot – 30% Cabernet-Franc
Vineyard:
Vines are in average 15 years old and benefit from a sandy-gravels soils that extends over 7 acres.
Winemaking:
Classical vinification in stainless steel vats. Ageing for 12 months in French oak barrels, with 30% new barrels.
Tasting Notes:
A fine wine but yet with character, revealing on the nose a dense nose of rip black and red fruits melted with slightly oaky notes. Elegant and mouth-coating it shows a real complexity and elegance.
Pairing Food:
Serve at 17-18°C with grilled meats, roasted poultry, or with a good selection of cheeses. This wine will be nice as an aperitif with sophisticated appetizers.
