Gevrey Chambertin AOC

Dufouleur Père & Fils have been winemakers and merchants from father to son for over 4oo years. Their experience and the constant emphasis on quality have made the great reputation of Dufouleur’s wines.

Grape Variety:

Pinot Noir 100%

Vineyard:

The village of Gevrey-Chambertin is one of the most famous villages in Burgundy. The name Chambertin was later added to the original ‘Gevrey’. The village produces typical Côte de Nuits wines and owns a total of nine Grands Crus. They benefit from a brown calcic and limestone soil, melted with gravels and marls that give them finesse and firmness.

Winemaking:

Combining traditional methods with modern equipment, Dufouleur Père & Fils produce wines that express the unique characteristics of each individual terroir. The Gevrey-Chambertin macerates for 20 days in open wooden tanks, with extraction techniques. Then it is aged for less than a year in old barrels such as every wines at the estate.

Tasting Note:

With a lively ruby color, this nose offers complex flavors of red and black fruits slightly pairs with flowers notes such as violet and spices.  The palate is a whole, rich, strong and structured wine. Tannins are very present but play on the velvet.

Food Pairing:

This wine will be revealed along with RIB steak, stew and cheeses.
