I tested the seat switch by being on the mower while it's running and standing up. ZD28 , new this spring, Zero faults.

Also to note, on the operator dashboard, it does turn the pto light on and off when you move the lever to actuate the pto. There is a hole in the lever that looks like it should maybe have a cable or something attached to it but there is nothing there.
