I have an alcantara steering wheel and it is high maintenance, unless you wear gloves. I do not see a hole for this light in the single piece binnacle. Different materials have different advantages and drawbacks, so why not use them all? I tried this and it was miserable. For daily wear - I just prefer a good heated cloth seat.
